jumping speedo

I have a 94 bronco 303, e40d transmission, 4 wheel abs. went over train tracks speedo stopped working and trans started shifting terrible. changed tps that was shorted and replaced rear axle speed sensor and sodered and heat shrank pinced speed sensor wiring. speedo works and trans is shifting smoothly. buy the speedo is jumpy not smooth as before.

Could be some sort of power surge or the speedo itself is just sticky. Double check your wiring and if you don't find anything, then pull the clear face off the gauges and blow it all out with can compressed air. Hose compressed air may be too much for the fragile needles.

PSOM may need to be recalibrated. There is a tech article here @ FTE on how to accomplish this.

I had the speedo jumping about 5mph. I found out the mph gauge was bad. I replaced it with a used gauge cluster from the junk yard $100. I didnt use the whole cluster because that will change my odometer reading. I just swaped the mph gauge.
