2.9 power upgrades??

I have a 89 BII, 2.9l, 4x4, auto, 4.11 gears, 31" tires. So far I have added a flowmaster, explorer radiator, and a K&N filter. I'm going to tune it up over the Thanksgiving weekend. What else can I do to it? How about:

A better coil?
Does the James Duff chip work good?
Electric fan worth it?
Any good ideas for a cold air intake?
Should I swap in the 86-87 TB?
How about premium gas?
any others?

thanks!

the 86-87 tb does nothing at all for the 2.9. those who says it does just want it to make more power so they make themselfs belive it. your not really going to make the 2.9 all that powerfull, you could bump up the timming a bit and rum premium just as long as it doesnt ping. good luck! find a 302 to drop in it!!!

i have done plenty of upgrades the 86-87 tb is 58mm and the later tb's are 52mm if you clean out the tb real good and the upper and lower intakes. port and polish them add free floating rockers and change out your lifters and pushrods. clean the heads and port and polish them to match headers/manifold which ever you might have. remove stock air filter housing and replace with a neon cai and a k&n filter. aluminum flywheel balanced out. distributor cap and rotor accel/mr gasket. including msd stator, msd spark plug wires 8.8mm ,autolite double platinum plugs.castrol 20w-50 with a k&N oil filter. no cat straight pipe to flowmaster super 40 3in/2in out dual out back a hypertech 2.9 chip with mathcing low temp thermostat. explorer radiator with no fan clutch flex a lite fan 18in with a custom spacer. b&m engine and tranny cooler with 10in cooling fan.
19lbs fuel injectors with a clean fuel rail and new fuel pressure regulator along with new high pressure fuel pump. high capacity fuel tank 33gallons .
quite a few things listed here plus done alot more .

you need time and money to do all this . i'm working on another engine right now a 351w blueprinted to put in my b2 ready for next year feb06
