I've got a 91 Ranger extended cab with the 3 liter and an overdrive automatic. Just as it started getting cold this year, it started being slow about engaging the first time in the morning. Takes a minute or so, and it seems to find reverse first and then it needs Drive before it will find overdrive. Then it's fine until the next day -- whether or not I go out for lunch.
Fluid looks full and pink. DOn't remember this from last year. A coworker suggested I try an additive, and a fluid /filter change if that didn't work.
Might try that, but I'm always skeptical of additives.
