My Girlfriend has a '98 Windstar that I am cursed with fixing. She bought it as a second vehicle to haul stuff in. Its in excellent condition and very clean but the interior lights didn't work. Upon investigation I found that the previous owner had removed all of the bulbs from the interior lights, even the footwell lights under the dash. What's up with that? I replaced all of the bulbs and got the lights all working but opening the driver's door doesn't turn them on. Opening any other door does. So I go insearch of the door switch and can find no trace of one. ???
Anyone know where the door switch is on these things?

Reason: remove: F'ing
The door switches are part of the latch assembly, IIRC. I've heard that liberally spraying the latch in the door (not the striker on the jamb) will sometimes cause these to work again.
After my previous reply, I thought about the fact that all the bulbs had been removed. I'll bet that the first "failure" of the switch was in the closed position, leaving the lights on and draining the battery.
