I have a 67 f100, the fuel and temp guage ,at first, both were pegged ,and now both are not working at all. I think Im losing my memory. Isnt there a common resistor to both of them on the back of the insturment panel? thanks, bob
Your truck should have an instrument voltage regulator mounted to the back of the cluster. Here's what it looks like.
Go to www.partsamerica.com and plug in your truck if you want to see how much it costs in your area.
If you want to run a quick test, unplug the wire at the temp sensor on the engine, and with the key in run, ground the wire. The temp gauge should swing all the way in one direction. The take the wire off and let it hang in the air, and the gauge should swing all the way the other direction. If this works, you know the wiring and the guage are good, and it's the sensor.
