1st... going to the local carwash to pressure wash off your old dirty engine (i know you've got one) .... our self serve car wash has an engine cleaning setting with a special chemical in it. I did it today, not only is it cleaner, but it runs considerably cooler. dried oil was acting as insulation, caked on the engine and heating it up.
2nd... putting fox body mustang seats in your truck... I might get my hands on a set soon, just wondering if theres a way to make them work. If not, I'll make my own brackets.... any ideas?
-Wow, I never thought about making the engine run cooler by washing it. But I do have a set of Camaro bucket seats in my truck. They sould be similer to Mustang type seats. I used angle iron to bolt onto the track. I had to make new holes. You will also have to raise the seats with brackets or you won't be able to see over the dash.
Just some things to keep in mind -Dan

That's why mine is *usually* spotless, grease is an insulator I'm sure.
If you think their engine cleaner is good ,try mixing 40% GUNK with 60% Varsol and spraying that on a warm to hoe engine when you arrive at the car wash just before you start Vacuuming.
That 15-20 minutes that the solution is on there is enough.
Spray with the soap and rinse and you won't believe how clean it comes up. Even better, is if you use a steam cleaner, without removing the paint.
