Block heater...?

My block heater has stopped working and I can't figure out why??? It is getting juice but won't work...........

Any ideas as to why it went out. I can't imagine that the element is dead...??

It is in a 01 250 5.4.

Thanks all

Any idea how much to replace it? It looks like a very tight squeeze up in there>!!!!

double check the cord is plugged into the heater on the side of the block properly, check the whole wire for a short. It culd have been wearing against something. You might have to replace just the cord. f its the actual block heater, thats a bit more expensive.

Have you checked with an ohm meter to see if you have continuity. Also can you check it with an amp meter to see if there is any current draw.

This sounds like it might not be making connection from the cord to the block heater or your extension cord might be going bad ( I had this happen)

I thought about that too.... I have tried several differant cords and it seems to do it on all the cords, I think I might have to replace it.
