door lock question

door lock question

My 92 f150 has an electric door lock that is not working-it buzzs-does this mean that something is disconnected or does it need replacing thanks

Try oiling the lock mechanism and manually locking and unlocking 10-12 times. If it's buzzing it's trying. The mechanism just may be dirty and stuck and too stiff for the solenoid to move.

I have the same problem - the lock will go down, but I have to hold the power lock button for a few seconds.

Do I need to remove the door panel to get to what needs oiled?

My 92' flareside did the same thing when I took the door panel off the power lock was cracked and the motor was just buzzing around and not connecting with the geared piece that pushes the lock up and down.
