Starter problems. Please help

every once in a while wen i try to start my 05 150 crewcab 4x4 it stutters and dies when i try to start it. Could someone please tell me what they think the problem is and how much it might cost to fix.

how many miles on it? how long cranking it?

10150 miles. when i turn the key it usually starts right up but evertonce in a while it kind of starts then dies. then it will start up fine after that.

May not be your problem if it ONLY does it at start up, but there could be water in the tank. I would dump in some dry gas(the isopropyl type) can't hurt and should probably use some on a regular basis(like I should and don't)

It could be a problem with the anti-theft system. Have you droped you key or damaged it latly? and does the red light on the dash flash when you try and start it? good luck...
