I have decided that I want a full exhaust system for my truck for xmas.
Truck is a '97 F-150 4x4, regular cab, short bed, with the 4.6 and 4R70W automatic.
Im on a budget here...I would like to keep everything under $400 if I can.
For headers...I would like long tubes and ceramic coated. I here that Advance Autoparts carries Hedman and a few other brand names for around $160 or so.
I also want to get High-Flow Cats, but will that affect the O2 sensor that is after the cats...or not? OBDII
For a muffler...I have it narrowed down to a Origional 40-series and the 40-series delta flow. I will put turndowns on the muffler and dump it right there behind the cab.
i doubt it will affect the cats, if it does for some reason, then get a MIL (o2 sensor elimenator) and wire it in to the rear o2 (very very easy to put in) and you will be good to go. 40-series would be a good way to go, but seems like everyone has em.. you can find one on ebay new for around 60 dollers with free shipping. As far as the headers go, dont have any experience on those. But if you are doing all the work yourself then you should be able to get it all done for around 400.00
