2004 with about 7500 on it. Noticed today a very slight residue of oil (not trans fluid) has seeped out around the rubber access pulg behind the oil pan on the bottom of the bell housing of the trans...its so thin its not even covering the color of the silver on the front of the trans.
In fact its not even wet anymore (been doing a lot of off road here and its dusty out at the ranch-no rain yet)...
I wasn't really worried just curious if it might be a sign of some other problem.
I drove my '05 home on July 22...I have not raised the hood once...therefore, I have had no problems. Start it, drive it. There is so much oil in the thing, it would take a leak the size of a river to really matter.
PS.. I have owned other Fords...the RMS is the weakest point of any Ford Motor...since my 1958 Edsel to my 1970 Ranchero to my 1976 Granada..they all leaked oil. Just carry extra oil.

I kept cleaning the stain off my bellhousing every time I changed the oil and when changing it this time(30,000 miles ) it was clean. I was glad to see it was gone.
