driveline vibration?

driveline vibration?
I have vibration in the driveline. At first I thought it would be the u-joint but it appears to be play in the pinion shaft. Question is the bearing going out or will I have to replace the ring and pinion set. How difficult of a job is it. Remember I have a stone driveway and No garage and the temp is about 30 to 40 degrees this time af year. Thanks ahead of time for any help.

I had a vibration start after the u-joint squeak stopped. i checked the driveshaft for play with it in the truck and didn't find any it wasn't until I dropped the shaft and realized the yoke joint was going and the rear was rust. There is some play in the pinion. If you haven't checked the u-joints with the shaft out do it first before looking at the pinion.
