i6 motor mounts
Does anyone know if they made more than one type of motor mounts for a 78 F-150 with the 300-6. I tried getting some from the local parts stores (napa, M&O) and the mounts were bigger than my originals. LMC shows a different set of mounts for the 78 vs the 79. Can anyone help me out?

Yes, there are two diffent mounts for either side. There's a thread in either this forum or the inliner forum about this. You'll have to do the old matchup at the part store in order to get the right ones. It seemed that the ones for my '79 were the more rare type that required some shopping around in order to get the right ones. The differences are subtle, but they're not the same.

I know the left and right mounts are different. Do you know which of the years mounts were the smaller ones?
You wouldn't happen to know where that thread is do ya? I looked through all 27 pages of the inliner forum, but didn't find anything. It'll take a while to tackle the 160 pages of this forum.

Indy, wish I could help you more but I can't. All I know is that a few part stores listes two different part numbers for each side (meaning four different mounts) for my '79 2WD. Friday I'll get the LMC catalog out and tell you which ones are on my '79 if that helps.
