A4ld Hooped?
It slips so bad in reverse that i cant move it when its warm, as well, it has difficulty shifting into 3rd as well, ance it does the RPM seem to flutter about like it wants to go back into 2nd, or it hangs onto 2nd for a long time.
The fluid is fine, and has recently had a filter and fluid change. It appears to be clear as well, it doesnt smell burnt. But it does have some froth in it.
Im wondering if its the torque converter or somthing worse. I cant really afford to do a complete re & re.
Any suggestions would be great as I need this for work and everything else.
As well, if anybody has a good A4LD about that their thinking about selling give a line, pay for shipping etc. As long as the original price is right. Perferably someone in BC, AB, or border states...
Give some replies, anything will help...
Dennis
PS could this be the vaccuum regulator?

The direct clutch is used in both revere and third gear. If you have problems with both of those most likely the direct clutch is toast.
i dont wanna get rid of her, but i just might...
gonna check the vaccuum line anyways...
ive got a line on an 87 supercab thats seems ok...for 1500 cdn... at least then i get a decent body and a use for my lowering stuff...
got a line on a rebuilt for 500 bones cdn, install for 250...
id do it but i just dont have the time, all the shops say its the direct clutch,
Cheers casey for the help and clarification!
