wheel cleaner

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to find a wheel cleaner for my KR wheels. It appears that the previous owner used fixaflat on one of the wheels, and some of the goop got on the wheel and dried. I've tried regular aluminum wheel cleaner, and it didn't touch it.

Any ideas on what I can use that won't damage the clearcoat?

Thanks.

Bryan

If its on the inside of the wheel (between the beads)...just use a wire brush or steel wool.

I would reccommend rubbing alcohol on the outside of the wheel though. I have used this stuff for years on the paint to remove sap and tar without a problem.

Spartan SC400 is probably the best degreaser on the market. It is made for breaking down materials such as that. Its available from any commercial cleaning store - at least here locally. Spartan also makes a product called SD-20 that works very well. Might also try brake cleaner - available at local parts store. Try all of these on a part of your wheel you can't see very well to make sure that they dont damage your finish.
