Buzzing vibration?

Buzzing vibration?
I have a 98 F-150 extended cab 4x2, 128K miles, 4.6 and auto trans.
It has developed a buzzing like vibration at freeway speeds that I can't seem to pinpoint.
It is enough to make the images in the rearview mirror appear blurry, but it isn't strong enough to make driving uncomfortable. Even my wife doesn't seem upset by it. Coffee doesn't splash out, but you can see the vibrations in the surface of the liquid.
There are no engine codes, no other obvious problems.
I suspected the U-joints, but they seem tight, as does the rear end. I've had it and the transmission regularly serviced, too.
It isn't violent enough to be wheel bounce (balance) or alignment, but had those checked anyway. Wheels appear straight too.
Engine mounts perhaps?

It isn't tires, at at least not probable,anyway. Rotated and re-balanced.
The vibration is is too cyclic to be a wheel, it is of a much higher frequency.
Which is why it is frustrating ot find!
