Who Is This Guy???

I noted a denniscarpenter2 selling stuff on ebay. Is this the real company or someone using the name? Maybe there has already been a thread on this which I missed. In the middle of moving and have not been on in a month. Thanks, Newt

Looks like it might be one and the same......looks like he's selling stuff that probably didn't move to well through the catalog

Looking at a few of the auctions, looks like they may be using it to offload some scratch and dent or factory second items

Mid Fifty, and several of the other catalog dealers sometimes sell off old, returned and/or merchandise that isn't quite perfect on ebay.

I just bought some grille letters (the F-O-R-D) from DC on ebay. They were described as "imperfect due to something ahead of the plating process". No communication after the auction, no shipping/tracking info, etc. They showed up a week or so later, rattling around loose in a box. They had been placed all together in a little plastic ziploc pouch, and had come out during shipping.

From being in the same pouch, without any tissue between them to keep them from scratching each other, and from rattling around in the box, they now have some scratches that they didn't have before shipping. They look perfect except for the scratches, no way I would call them "seconds". Would they ship "first line" merchandise like this?! These letters go for over $80 new.

I wrote to DC about it and got a decent reply from the eBay sales manager for DC, he said they were having trouble with someone in their shipping dept., requested the names of the packer and order filler from the shipping forms, and apologized for the problem.

If the scratches weren't relatively minor, and the price so much discounted off their regular price, I'd be hopping mad. It seems like they are **cautiously*** acceptable to deal with.

Thanks

I appreciate the responses. I am going to go ahead and order the Hood Letters also for my daily driver. It seems like a good deal at the "Buy Now" price. Will give update when I receive them.

I bought one of those heater kits for $20.00 before he realized they were priced too low. Fast shipping, good service,

Barry
