I just recently purchased a 1975 F-150 and the cruise
doesn't work. Does anybody have any ideas on what could be wrong? All the wires are hooked up to the hornpad where the cruise control buttons are and the wires look good. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Braxton
P.S. When you push the on button for the cruise you can hear a whistleing sound coming from up in the dash.
I agree that it sounds like a vacuum leak. No part of the vacuum system that drives the cruise control goes under the dash. The vacuum portion of the system goes from a tee on the manifold to a short cylindrical valve/splitter. From the splitter one hose goes to the cruise control servo that drives the throttle. The other hose goes to a reservoir under the drivers side fender apron. Trace the hoses and look for a leak somewhere.
