Depends on the look your going for. I've seen it done to a few beaters, mud boggers, and trail trucks. It doesn't look bad on most. If you really wanna do it, do it.
It has to be the right truck for it, like the old lil' red express from dodge looked ok with it, stacy's david's (trucks tv) sargent rock project looks good with the stacks, but an 87 Ford...nah...
I know someone who took a 93 f-150 and put tall stacks on it. The truck has a 9 inch lift with 35's but i didnt like it. Sounded like crap too I thought.
I've got a 92 F250 with a 5.8. I ran hooker headers into 2.5" dynamax mufflers then up through the bed with 3"stacks. I love the way she looks and I get a lot of complements on both how she looks and how she roars. the stacks even drown out the whine from my mud tires. Only downfall is that I live in MA and the cops here are a nightmare from hell. good luck bub
