Door ajar problemo!

Hey,
Just came in from slathering on the ole' WD 40 on my door latches on my Ranger. Worked like a charm!
I have to say that I was worried that something was really wrong with it when my son came in and said that the "door ajar" and "interior" lights would not go out.
Came in here and typed door ajar interior lights stay on in Google and was brought here. Read a couple of posts - and - yippee.
Wife thinks I am a master mechanic now. Guess it pays to have the internet in my garage.

99 Ranger - Finally found good information on how to shut my blasted dome light off. Sprayed a bunch of WD-40 into driver side mechanism. That did not fix it like the Ford dealer did years ago. I was convinced it was the driver side but a quick spray on passenger side fixed it at least for now. Thanks for a clear explanation.
