SD Leafspring issue
I have a 99 F-250 SD CC SB V-10 4x4 with the X (6000#) front leafs on it right now. I am sick of the overly stiff ride esp from the front since I have the velvet ride shackles in the back. I don't plow. I do tow a long crew boat trailer approx 9000#. Is my best option to go back to the 4400# springs it came with and put a hanger lift in to keep the nose up? I would probably want a taller bump stop set up if the kit didn't already include it. What is the difference between the "round" ubolt suspension, on the 99's verses the "square" ubolt suspension on say a 2004 SD????

Yeah it rides fine in summer, but the frost in the roads and the cold shock oil(rancho 9000's on 2nd notch) are a bit much. I am getting some Goodyear MT/R's with only 3000# @ 50psi load rating to soften it up a bit. If the tires don't help the front suspension is next in line. I put the X springs in to raise the truck when it was new, now there are better options that don't make it ride so bad - hopefully. I'm thinking of using the fabtech hanger and shackle kit. Any ideas on the round vs square, I know I heard this somewhere before?
