What's your mileage on your V10?

I love it! At idle, it is nice, mellow, and deep. Cruising around town, you can hear it when accelerating, but it is not too loud. Really putting your foot into it raises the pitch considerably, making a sound that I cannot really describe.
Does it sound like a Chevy or Dodge V8? NO. No muffler will make a V10 sound like that.

bigrnu, thats funny, i just did exactly the same thing. i used to have a dodge v10. i took both cats off, put single chamber flowmasters and 3" pipes out the sides. louder, but still sounds like our trucks now. i also currently have a ram 2500 4x4 5.9L v8. took the cat off, single chamber flowmaster, 3 1/2" pipes out each side. HOLY CRAP, YOU CAN HEAR ME FROM LIKE A COUPLE OF BLOCKS AWAY. there is no sound like the mellow verroooom of the v10's.
oh, my rig, 01 X limited 4x4 V10 5tv's, dvd, xbox.

Just went to Memphis and back with 5 people and gear. Kept it steady at 72-75 on the highway. Very little under or over which is slow for me. I also did about 60 miles in town. I got a calculated 13.9 MPG which I am extremely pleased with, especially with the lift and tires.
BIGRNU-
I did see a slight drop in mpg after my lift. I have 3.73s and did not change them either. The overhead computer used to be overly high and now it is slightly low. Never looked back and lovin every minute of it, even waiting in line to pay $3 for gas! Now they are almost givin it away at 1.95 here.

Satisfactory mileage
I have a 2002 v10 with a 3.73 rear. I added a K& N air filter and use Mobil 1 10-30 oil.
Mileage is reliably consistent:
city: 10-11
highway: 14-15 (cruise 65-70)
towing 30ft trailer (5000lbs): 10.5
As others have stated, you don't buy Bubba to get good mileage. I do admit, however, I elected a higher rear, given my trailer is light, so I wouldn't get 8-9 around town.

Do you honestly think that anyone bought an EXCURSION with the hopes of high mileage? When the of a gun runs out, put some more in it!!! Remember people, its not how you do it...its how you look doin it!!
And speaking of how you look doing it, my funnest car to drive is the 86 Dodge Omni Carroll Shelby mofied four cylinder 200 hp 2,300 lbs. It may not be as sharp as the Mustang or Camaro that it just killed but it does get 30 mpg!!!

Im extremely interested in this as I am trying to decide between an F150 and this.
I could use the 9 passenge seating as I am a youth pastor but cannot afford to lost my shirt on the gas mileage either.
Great thread....
The F150 V8, I think gets around 20, so I guess there is considerable difference in the two. Looks like on average around 6-8 mpg at least...
Thanks for the great info guys...

I am just saying that mileage is not much different and do not let some optimistic people sway you too much. They are very different vehicles with very different capabilites. My neighbor does not drive his much harder than I do. I am normally in the high 11s for mileage and that is with the lift. 14 mpg is the best I can do on the road because I will not drive slower than 70. I love the new F150s, first 1/2ton Ford I liked since 96 when they got rid of the square body.
