in my setup(copy of tymar) there is rubber boot between the ccv housing and the 45 degree pipe. but i still didn't attach the clamp to the inner fender for ease of changing it later or taking it out for other repairs. i just use the feet of the clamp to hold it up off the inner fender for more air space on the bottom of the filter.
