Fuel guage question

Fuel guage question
I have a '88 F-250 with a 351, 4x4. Deul gas tanks. Both tanks act the same when switched over. The fuel tank guage reads WAY past full until about a quarter tank then it will jump down to 1/4 tank and follow it accuratly untill empty. My ranger does the same thing.... almost. When its completely full, it will be at the full line. When it gets down to 7/8, shortly thereafter it will bury itself wayyy past full until i get down to 3/8 of a tank and then be accurate. Not a clue whats goin on buddy
