Hello, I just was thinkin. I was reading the post about the guy wanting to rebuild his '92 f150 w/ a 300-6 in it. My idea is a little far fetched just to warn you, but wouldnt it be neat to somehow convert this into a deisel f150 using the 300-6 design. I know i know, the chevy 350 deisel was a Piece, but this is a FORD.(if bein chevy was the only thing wrong w/ that motor)
But wouldnt it be awsome to hava a (turbo?) deisel 300-6. I think that that would be awsome. So, what do y'all think bout this?
That was GM's mistake, trying to make a diesel engine with a gas engine block. They didn't last long.
VW made the same mistake in the first years of the diesel Rabbit. They were lucky to make it past 50,000 miles. In '81 they hardened the blocks, then the motors would go 500,000. Basically outlasting the cars they were installed in.
