My problem with the wipers on my 89 Ranger is that when the truck is on, so are the wipers. They only respond to high/low speed, but no inter. or won't turn off. I've tried another motor and it resulted in the same. Any ideas?

Thanks for such a quick comback! I tried using another known to be good switch with the same results. I also tried replacing a box under the dash, which the schematic calls an "internal governor" to no avail. ????
Sounds like a cross in the wiring, the only other thing in the steering column thats hot with only the ignition on is the turn signals. See if the wipers turn off -check high & low speed-when you remove the turn signal fuse.
I went out and tried the fuse and the wipers would work on high and low speed and would also turn off. The intermittents wouldn't. I've been using Autozone regularly, and appreciate the advice, thanks!
You must be referring to the br/wt between the internal gov. and the switch? If so, I can run that fairly easy with the dash apart already. I hope I'm not bugging you too much, but this so called easier problem has become a monster. I also think you are pretty sharp with the wiring, and like your feedback.
