I was having problems with chraging ran wire from voltage regulator to battery. It charged but blow alot of fuses. I replaced them removed wire back to voltage regulator.Still cant get any lights in back.them one of the wires from headlight swith got very hot and strated to melt. it runs from swith to fuse box.
I have been reading other post and from what i read Im not grounded right. Have one ground cable from (-)negitive post to moter,. The secoung is charging sytem. I have replaced battery/alternater and voltage regulater.never charges very well and at time the light comes on at idil or slow speeds. Im at my witts end. can anyone help?
That will take all regulation out of the system and burn up bulbs and the fuse links from the alternator to the starter sol., maybe the fuse links opened and saved the battery and alternator. Make sure the regulator is grounded and not saying you have ground problem but you can never have it grounded too much, in this case the more grounds the merrier.
You may have all of the bulbs burned out or a bad fuse for these systems.
One ground from the battery to the engine is not enough. The engine and tranny are mounted in rubber motor mounts. You need small grounds from the engine block to the sheetmetal up front and also the firewall.
