The shift **** on my 95 F-150 won't stay on. It ends out in my hand. I have been putting paper in it to shim it up. Well, I guess I did it one too many times. The thing split in two.
Two questions, one is do you just tap a new on on? On other stick vehicles I had the shift ***** screw on. This one's splined. Also because it is splined, do I have to get a factory replacement or will an after market one work. Any recomendations on where to get one?
Thanks !!!
I bought an aftermarket **** at Walmart and you shove it on and tighten 3 set screws and then you slide a collar up over the screws. Ithas been on for 3 years and has not come off.
