Snowplowing question

Alot of people that I talk to, and even my owner's manual, claim that diesel equipped trucks are not recommended for plowing. What is the reasoning behind this?

The diesel engine is alot heavier than the gassers. The extra weight approaches tha capacity of the springs. Hanging a heavy plow off the front could overload the springs.

BTW - there is extensive conversations regarding this on the following two sites:
www.plowsite.com
