Axle whine

Just had a warranty repair carried out to cure the axle whine my Navi has been suffering. They replaced the rear diff. However, road testing it today I can still hear the whine at low speeds 15 - 40 mph. Seems to go quieter above these speeds. Anyone else had this and successfully had it repaired

I had the R&P replaced once and complete rear ends 2x in my 2004 Explorer. It was really bad and continued to be really noisy. We now have a 2003 Expedition and it is light years ahead of that POS Explorer we had. No body rattles, no brake problems, no rear end problems. Love the Expy.

Mine did the same thing on deceleration only. It was the pinion bearing in the rear end. Replaced new and all gone.

The third time seemed to be the charm. Had rear end replaced at 2K then the drive shaft at around 4K did the r&p at around 15K and that seemed to do the trick. Not being one to like having my truck in the shop, I drove with whine for quite a while. Now have 35K on my EB and things are still doing fine.
