Cool Tick, Tick, Tick...

OK, I sold my Ranger after years of good service and bought a 99 F-250 Super Duty 5.4, 107,000 miles. Thanks to everyone I've worked my way through all my issues except one.
After starting, 1-2 minutes, I begin to hear what sounds likes a stuck lifter. Gets louder for about 1 minute and stops like someone hits a switch. It cycles back one more time until temp gauge hits bottom of heat range. It's always the same and happens about 75% of startups. I run Mobil 1, 5-30 and Ford filters. I tossed in some Lucas additive, no real help. It does seem to happen when the choke is adjusting the engine speed. I don't think this is the piston slap because it happens after it runs for a minute. Sounds like it comes from the passnger side top of the engine. I doubt this has ever had injector service and is likely passed due for a tune up. It does sound like a very, very loud injector. Any thoughts?
