Fuse keeps blowing

My 1995 F-350 powerstroke with a 5 speed keeps blowing the number 17 fuse in the cab. I must have a bare wire somewhere as it blows almost as quick as you put the fuse in. When this fuse is blown the tach is dead, the wts and other lights and so are the oil pressure, fuel, amp and maybe the temp gauge I have no idea what the heck is causing this and I do not know where to begin to look. Anyone have any ideas. I really need this truck and hate to drive it without the gauges working. Thanks for the help

Will the truck start with that fuse blown? Normally if the WTS light is off, so is the PCM.

One of the things listed in the book for that fuse is the WIF switch.....maybe a problem in the filter bowl?

Yes, the truck starts and runs fine. It may indeed be something in the fuel bowl. Can I unplug that sensor wire, and still run the truck?

Is the sensor wire on the back side or the drivers side of the fuel bowl? I unplugged every sensor that I can see on the back and the drivers side and the fuse still blows. It does not blow until I turn the key to the run position. It pops just as soon as the key is turned. Any other ideas for me to check? I appreciate the help.

Well don't forget wire chaffing, it could be almost anywhere. Hopefully you'll find it before more damage is done.
