I got a new alternator for my 1973 f100 w/ Inline 6. I replaced the 38Amp with a 61Amp. It has 5 terminals. Labeled batt., grnd., fld. and two unlabled terminals, one with a plastic insulator. I know batt. connects to the wire going to my relay, I know grnd. goes to my voltage regulator but then I have a metal bracket coming out of the wiring harness that conncected to a terminal on the old alternator, does anybody know which terminal this goes to on the new alternator and what it's for?
What would happen if I accidently hook the bracket to the stator instead of the stud?
I don't have an electric choke. It appears to only go on one way just want to make sure there is no way I can screw up my electrical system.
