clutch release bar
Does anyone know if a clutch release bar (equalizer bar?) off a v8 engine will fit on a 300-6? I know the sixes have a pivot ball that screws into the engine, but I think the 8's have a ball off of a plate. It looks like it will work, but just wanted some advice.

I know the bellcranks are interchangeable between smallblock (302) and I-6, and that the bellhousing is the same for the two. I have done it on 67-72 and 73-79 trucks. On smallblocks, the engine side pivot screws into the block on earlier engines, but starting around 1977 they used a pivot bracket attached with two of the bellhousing bolts.
I believe that FE (360,390) and 429/460 use the same bellcrank too, but am not 100% sure.
