Well i thought I'd put three windows in the house today and work on my 48 alittle this week.Got two windows in and trimed. All I had to do was caulk around the window and put in the last one.About two hours work. When in steped murphy. It started to rain so I was trying to hurry up and get the window caulked. I turned to grab a tube of caulking lost my footing and fell to the ground.Of course I bounced off the scaffloding on the way down. Two hours later I get out of the clinic with some broked ribs and a damper on my plans.I blamed this on murphy but we all need to be carefull.Being in a hurry I was not being as safe I should have. Now I need not hurry for at least 6 weeks.haste dose make waste.Ok I'm done crying now.Everyone have a great and safe weekend.

WOW!!! sorry to hear all this, and listen to yourself about the 6 weeks!!! I didn't after falling of the roof becuase I didn't take time to change shoes, broke some foot bones and refused to stay down 6 weeks, and now I pay for it every time the weather gets cold, bones never healed..slow down and let the healing take place, the truck will wait..

Sorry to hear about the mishap Art. Glad you are OK.
Along those same lines I had a very near miss on Friday. I have three transmissions for these trucks. Since I would not be needing them for a while (if ever), I decided to move them from my garage to storage. One still had the shifter on it. We loaded the one with the shifter into the truck. No problem. Loaded the next one in and the weight of the secod transmission caused the first one to roll over. When it rolled over, it rolled in my direction and that shifter smacked me right in the face missing my left eye by by no more than 3/8". A little bruised but OK.
Suffice it to say, I immediately stopped loading transmissions and removed the shifter. Lesson learned - Always remove te shifter handle/rod when the transmission is out of the truck. Too much unstable potential energy to play around with.
Did not mean to hijack your thread but wanted to pass along another safety message to add to yours. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Whoa! thats a real bummer! I'm sorry to hear about your misfortunes. Thanks for the reminder about taking shortcuts.
Now you have 6 weeks to go through your catalogs and make a huge X-mas list of truck parts.
