In my 94' Ranger with 2.3L , 5 speed, I got in it today and the clutch felt like junk. It was cold the past few nights. I could have pushed it in with my hand. It started to engage just off the floor after that it feels like its just floating there and while driving I barely have to move my foot off the floor to shift. And at a stop its really hard to get it in and out of gear...Might need to bleed the clutch?? (i heard that once) or how do I adjust it?...Any ideas...thanks Guys
Like most hydraulic clutches, this one isn't adjustable.
Your problem may be with the clutch master or slave cylinder, or perhaps its time for a new clutch. As far as bleeding is concerned, there's a bleeder bolt similar to the one you find on a brake caliper mounted on the slave cylinder. Like bleeding the brakes, you continue to pump the pedal until all the air is expelled from the cylinder and lines. If it never firms up then you know you have an issue with one or both of the cylinders.
