I have hit a brick wall here. My van suddenly started running like crap. I suspect a vacuum leak.
There is no sticker on the valve covers, other than an emissions sticker.
I have tried Chiltons, Haynes, and a couple of Ford dealers. None have the diagram.
I have a 1978 E250 (4x4 Pathfinder Quadravan) with a NON-catalytic 460 motor. This is a NON-emissions engine.
Any advice on where to get a vacuum line diagram would be greatly appreciated. I plan on replacing ALL vacuum lines. I have no idea how old some of them may be.
You really only need three.. Manifold vaccum goes in to the cabin for the heater, unless it's the old cable controlled heat/defrost box. One ported or timed for the advance on the distributor, and on large manifold line for the brake booster.
Would a leaking brake booster cause the same symptoms as a vacuum leak? I have noticed that when I only lightly apply the brake pedal at a stop the pedal will bleed down. If applied with force, it stays put. I am not sure if this is a booster or line problem at this time.
