Considering putting a 460 into the 77 I have, has a 400 right now, but that is a project down the road, noit a high priority right now. The 400 runs, but seems toi have a heating issue, as well as fuel supply. The mechanical fuel pump won't draw, new pump, but for some reason it doesn't seem to actuate, but I can't see a thing wrong with it. The rest of the truck has issues as well, but has such a good body on it I can't see parting it out.
that 79 4x4 (avatar) was the same way had to run 2 eletric fuel pumps to get the stupid thing to run or else it would run out of fuel
in my opion the 460 just whipps the 400 rear
I had 5 400
and one 460
and stock to stock the 460 is just a better motor I had one 400 that would run (punched out .40 over) but it always ran on the "M" on TEMP
these old truck are getting like the 50 and 60 truck hard to find I tried to buy as many as I could when they started to become cheep got 4 parts truck but thats not enough
