exhaust, you can go the intake route with CAI, Ford racing plugs and wires (only use Motorcraft parts though), no Hurst since it's an auto, that's all that comes to mind immediately.

haha well another chris like me with a 2.9 like me. well the first thing you can do is upgrade your cap and rotor with accel products, 8.5 mm wires, spark plugs, 180 thermo, MSd blaster or Crian TFI coil, performance tires, Neon 90-93 sport intake with 2 bends(get it off ebay), build your own direct intake like i did, K&N FIlter, Tornado air inset, MSG Igniton, Detriot locker, performance sway bar, lakewood traction bars or bell tech depending if you are lowing or not, Gibson makes the best exhost for are truck, high flow cat or take the damn thing out and put a stright pipe, B&M makes a sport shifter for your alt. and even a converson to turn it manual, rear disk brake conversion, larger radiator from a 4.0, good year hoses, switch to synthetic engin additives, free floating rockers, remove fan and replace with a 16inch electrical unit, Less restictive headers, 58mm thottle body from an 87 ranger, advance timming to 12 degrees and use 89 octane feul, 19lb injectors after igniton increased, plenum spacers(you going to have someone to mill this for you but nothing over 1/2" or 3/8" or you will have to cut the hood), wrap your headers, hmm and port your upper and lower intake. I think thats all i can think of at the momment but i sure its enough to keep you busy for a while, good luck
