Question Fuel filter

My Haynes manual does show a fuel filter for my 1983 Ford F-150 (300 I6). Does this vehicle have a fuel filter and if so, where is it located? Thanks in advance!

it can be inline or screwed into the base of the carb.

On my 86 it was screwed into the base of the carb - real easy to change out.

I have both types - one is is inline between the fuel pump and the carb inlet and the other is a fitting that screws into the carb inlet. The inline filter is one that can be just dissambled and cleaned. The one attached to the carb should be replaced every so often (maybe every 36K or 3 years?)

I had to take the fuel line off from the fuel pump to the carb because it crossed over the valve cover and I was replacing the gasket. So that's what that thing is the fuel line screwed into. Never would have figured it was the filter. Never seen one screwed into the base of the carb. Thanks! OzarksFord
