The 351C and M have different bellhousings than the 351W, so you'll need to change the bellhousing, or the whole tranny if the bell is integrated into the tranny, as many of them are.

Motor mounts, etc.

if you want more power drop a 460 or stroke out your 351w to a 408. but do not drop in a 351m. they are a dog. the cleveland is a good motor but makes its power up hi in the rpm range which is not what you need for such a heavy truck.

I have to agree with everyone in that you really don't want to put a smog era engine in a truck that doesn't have overwheming power to begin with.

Whatever you dod, 351W rebuild, 408 stroker, 460 swap, be sure to get rid of the "spitty" (yeah, that's it, spitty) factory heads.

They weren't good on a 302 and the valve sizes are the same, if memory serves me correct, on the 351W which makes things worse.

it will bolt up if you have a clevland,i have heard 351m oil pans fit the clevland, but im not 100% sure, if thats true use a 4x4 pan as they are rear sump.
