Heater hoses...

I've tried searching, but there is WAY too much info to sort through...

My wife's 91 XL Extended Aero with rear A/C - I need to replace the heater hoses - what am I going to need to do this? Any special tools? What about any hard-to-find parts (hard to find hoses, etc...)

I'm planning to replace her rad hoses, heater hoses, thermostat and fan belt all at once...need to know how much this is goign to cost me in parts...

During this process, I plan to thoroughly flush the cooling system...

Buy it all in bulk (like 30 feet of the right sizes.) There are at least 2 different sizes of heater hose if I remember correctly. Ford probably doesn't even stock individual heater hoses anymore anyway. Get good stainless clamps and off you go. Also when replacing the heater hoses to your heater core ( if you can't get them) may I suggest using reducers (heater core inlet/outlet and engine inlet/outlet size is different)and just clamping the hoses to the heater core rather than using the quick (ha ha) disconnects. There are several posts on this and I have done it, good thing too cause I disregarded advice on this forum and bought a heater core made in Mexico and now I have to change it for the third time! at least it'll be easier.LOL

Those are quick disconnects, I ended up chopping one out and playing with it on the workbench to see hot the thing works, there a pain to say the least, I never knew they were quick release.

I have found the quick repair ends, so you can use normal heater hose on the quick-connect ends - ie, a Ford end, with a barbed nipple on the other end, to use regular heater hose on...

only drawback is, they run about $15 EACH...
