F250 " Custom"?

Can Anyone please tell me what the F250 "Custom" options where for 1979. Is "Custom" similar to a "plane Jane" model, or maybe ordered with some special options? (Mine is a Supercab 4x4 TowTruck)

Thanks
Wrecker

Yes, the Custom trim is the plain-jane model, or the "stripper" model.

You basically had no standard stuff (dependant on the chassis model). You had to add what you want such as a radio, cigarette lighter, etc etc, all the little things.

Customs usually come in one solid color paint scheme. White headliner, white sunvisors, painted headliner trim (that holds the headliner in), rubber floor mats, very little sound insulating. Hardly any chrome expect the front bumper and the outer grille shell.

Custom was the standard or "plain jane" pickup. They had less chrome, plain seat trim, the cheapo plastic door panels. My 77 custom doesn't even have a radio, or carpet. Then came Ranger xlt, and Lariate was the top of the line 79, lots of chrome, plush carpet, etc.
I don't know what options you could get with what trim levels, but I'm sure somebody here does!
