does that mean the beverly hills ford part sells for $20, whereas the ford dealer in the project sells for $1
the reason i ask from the internet is because i dont want to be running all over town trying to deal with the parts counter and all the frustration

No, it's not that simple. The parts discount structure is based on a formula that calculates dollar volume over a certain timeframe, and in different groups. As a rule of thumb, the larger the parts volume, the larger the discount the dealer gets from Ford.

Most places I've talked to won't price match w/an online supplier because of the shipping cost. There's also overhead costs that are not associated with an online retailer that just has one warehouse/distribution center.
