rear ac only at night

rear ac only at night
i know it sounds weird, but the rear ac ,94 clubwagon, blower and ac only comes on at night. front operates normal at all times. rear doesnt work on rear control either. i leave the rear blower control on and suddenly in the evening it just comes on. any ideas.?

Have you examined the wiring harness up front? Those blower motors draw a lot of current and it's very common for the switch and plug to go bad.
As to why it works in the evening, it's probably a coincidence, but here's a guess. You turn on the headlights. The interior gauge lights come on, including the light bulb at the blower switches. The heat of the bulb affects the intermittent wiring connection, allowing the blower to come on.
It all goes back to the switch and wiring harness. I've had to replace switches and/or harness connectors several times with different older vehicles.
