Question Ford structures??

Wut is wrong with ford and there structures? The freestar got a poor side crash test rating without side airbags. They said the structure collasped too easily. The same with the focus. Why not have all ford vehicles have strong structures? Then if u aren't going 2 do that. Offer side airbags at a lower price. Then people wouldn't sue ford about there structures. fordguy101

Old designs vs. new designs. The 500, Freestyle, and F150 scored extremely well- but they're new designs. The standards have changed over the past few years, and many of the old designs have really suffered because of it.

Note that the IIHS tests vehicles above what the Federal government requires. Just like the government tests at 35 mph head on, the IIHS tests either 35 or 40 mph offset head on crashes.

Side crash tests are new and the test is about a light smaller vehicle getting hit sideways by a much bigger one with a unbendable steel ram, unlike most factory bumpers.
