The song "Tiny Bubbles" comes to mind... I would hate to have some of that dawn left over in the block somewhere... Least you would be able to locate leaks!
Ok, I noticed something new.
I parked the van on a clean spot in the driveway (I think). When I pulled it out, I noticed a wet spot.
I investigated, and it was a clear liquid with an oil base? What the heck could that be?
Isn't tranny fluid red? Hmmmmmm.
It could be just condensation from your A/C, even if you have been running in defrost. Is it on the passenger side, about below the evaporator core? If so, that's it. It probably got mixed up with some old oil that's sitting on the frame. If you have rear A/C, it is also on the driver's side, about behind the driver's seat.

OH I had bubbles alright. I did several heat up and flushes and did not detect any soap in it after filling with some new green stuff. Did that couple years ago and now time to do it again before winter sets in. I was skeptical but it really worked on my old '64 p/u, got stuff that I didn't know grew in that old beast.
The AC has been disconnected since last summer. So I don't think it's that. Gonna see if it's flamable tonight....why? Cause men have to set stuff on fire.... LOL
It's still in the driveway after 2 days. Not evaporating.
You still haven't told us where it is approximately. If it's really oily and clear, about the only things I can think of are: a) oil from either your A/C compressor or one of the A/C lines, or b) brake fluid, unless you also have clear looking power steering fluid.
Who knows, it may also be the neighbor's cat/dog relieving themself on your driveway
From looking at the stain, it's look as if it's coming from the bell housing. I am going to do the cardboard trick tonight. You might be right about the AC fluid. My Brother-in-law just tried to fill it. I see ductape where the condenser nipple is..... Can't be a good thing...LOL
i don't think it's brake fluid. Brake fluid feels like microscopic pieces of sand when rolled on the fingers. It feels oily. This looks like, well, clear oil. I'll snap a pic.
first off...congrats on your new aquisition!
second... your leak sounds like a/c oil...it's the only oil base that's clear. at least it should be the only one....
anything else will have at least some color. if I'm not mistaken, most a/c oil is a very light mineral oil. very clear and very thin.
Isn't the A/C susposed to come on with the Defrost? I know it removes condensation. Mine IS NOT comming on. Might be because of the leak, and the low pressure sensor huh?
Ok, now that we have been driving the new Aero without a hitch, wait, it has a hitch...No ball....wait...no...ok, what was I saying??
Oh yeah, the Aero is driving beautifully, but have a small concern. When it idles, it sounds erratic. Slightly surging up and down, and has a little whine. I'm going to investigate it this weekend, but I thought I would throw it up here anyway.
I have a code reader for my 85 bronco II, will this work for the 89 Aero? If so, where is the code port located?
Thanks guys, there is MUCH MORE help in this forum then the Bronco II one. Great bunch of people.

That sounds like either your Idle Air Control Valve or a leak in a vacuum line or your intake gaskets. You can try spraying some carb cleaner around the intake and see if that helps the surging. And also spraying out the IAC can help (50/50 chance at not needed replaced,) IAC is Also a common general Ford issue.

Yes it will, the port is located on the drivers side kinda near the battery/cruise control area.
