Dog Dish Hubcaps

Tuesday I slipped up to Lodi where a fellow FTE member gave me all the parts I need to convert a 72 automatic to a 4 speed - everything from the bellhousing to the driveshaft, including a new hump.

He didn't charge me for the parts (I did take him some beer, you have to do something when a guy is this nice!)

Anyway, he is looking for 3 of the original steel dog dish hubcaps to fit his 72 F250 rims. He does not want the shinny bright metal ones, just the old painted hub cap. They don't have to be in great condition.

I would like to pay him back and find some for him - I'll buy them and pay the shipping to his house.

Anyone have some of these laying around?

I have 5 of these type that will work for his truck.

They are for 1978 to 1986 trucks though.

You can find hubcaps that go to 1966 to 1977 F-250 and 350s that look like this...

at hubcaps.com or order them through Les Scwab or any tire store. They run about $35 each for reconditioned.

The size is right, but I expect yours are the bright ones. He is looking for the gray painted ones used on the older trucks.

Yes, even the reconditioned one for the 66' to 77' are brightly polished as part of their reconditioning process.

Ford did make the same hubcap in a painted version of both styles, as well. They are pretty rare though. I'll keep an eye out for some.
