Question 88 F150 speaker replacement...

I am trying to replace the speakers and headunit on my 88 F150 I6 XL. All three were previously blown. Anyways, the speakers in the door have a black/white wire and a black/green wire. Which is positive and which is negative? thanks

I guess I should also state that after wiring in the new head unit - it seems fine i.e. it lights up and all functions are working. However - I get no sound after hooking up NEW speakers. I figured there may be a bad ground in the wire in the door so I hooked the speaker right up to the speaker wire lead coming from the radio itself and still nothing! Because I didn't know which wire was which in the door - I tried both ways and still nothing. Now why do I have the bad feeling like I shouldn't have done that? I probably blew the new head unit.

Also - the antenna IS pluged in.

speaker replacement

I would think that the black is the ground and the white/green would be the positive. Do you have the adapter harness for your stereo as it sounds like you are not hooked up to the proper speaker connections at the deck. Did the speakers ever work while you have owned the truck?
