hedders

I have a 1978 2wd f-150 with a 400 bought a second set of hedders and I am having the problem of the shift linkage hitting the hedders which is causing me not to shift into low 1&2 is there any trick to get around that without any special fabrication.

depending on the amount of interference , you can do something as simple as taking a large pair of channel locks and dimpling or notching the header tube at the contact point. If its a collum shift , you could go to a floor shift, you could also gently bend the linkage . my personal favorite is the floor shift, bob
